Located on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the Lounge’s fair and open-minded door policies make it one of the only L.A. hot spots where a UCLA coed and a 9-to-5 assistant can party with the rich and famous. The dark, sleek interior has a sexy South Beach vibe with gleaming candles illuminating the rich, red decor. Climb the spiral staircase to one of the slinky lounges, settle into a comfy chair, pop open a bottle of bubbly and relax. DJs spin a hot and heavy mix of hip-hop, R&B and house over the diminutive dance floor.

Sleek and sophisticated, the bi-level structure’s design was inspired by the romanticized lore of pre-Castro Cuba. The upscale decor and attention to detail are striking: travertine marble, ornamental wrought-iron railings and cubist-inspired furniture. A spacious lounge accommodates up to 350 people, a DJ booth and a full bar on both levels. Upstairs, the high-walled outdoor area obscures everything but the stars. At the far end of the patio, a fireplace roasts fresh maple wood. Servers float by in their “Barbarella”-meets-”G.I. Jane” get-ups.

Supermarket Events and Brent Bolthouse Productions is the longest-running promoter of in-crowd club nights in Los Angeles. Founded by Brent Bolthouse is now mostly operated by Jennifer Rosero.

One of the company’s greatest coups was turning the top floor of Dublin’s, one of the most populist meat-market bars on the Sunset Strip, into a party with the tightest list on Monday nights (which was actually mentioned in a hit by the rapper Jay-Z). Of course, the party has already moved elsewhere, to a Greek restaurant called Joseph’s Cafe, on Mondays.

One of the great attractions and mysteries of the Bolthouse parties is where the ever-changing array of young gorgeous girls come from.

The Bolthouse parties have a predilection for hip-hop. They book Djs…
