Arthur Conway Hubbard
Filed in Artists |
Arthur Conway Hubbard must be considered as a very rare occurrence in today’s confused world of figurative art. Even though born in the United States, Arthur spent the early part of his childhood in the south of England receiving a well groomed European education in a variety of subjects that span from contemporary literature to ancient mythology. As early as his first teenage years he began exploring the world and entering in contact with numerous different cultures in Europe, Africa and Asia developing a great thirst for knowledge which he satisfied by reading countless books on many different subjects.
By this time Arthur had already grown fond of art and all its forms. It slowly became clear to him that this was where his future was to unfold. Drawing was never an easy task for this young, red haired boy full of life and energy but his passion drove him forward despite the defeats. Through careful study and application, Arthur was able to develop a unique and distinctive technique that later was brought very close to perfection.
Arthur spent his late teens and early twenties focusing on the study of form and composition creating numerous works of decorative art. During the mid-eighties he became the featured artist in several art shows around the world receiving great recognition from various authorities on the matter.
After years of traveling, the thirty-something artist, became tired of public life and decided it was time for him to return to the studio and to the books to take his work to the next level. After abandoning the public scene, the study of the Human Form became a healthy obsession that took up most of his energy and time. Once he felt he had studied and perfected his technique enough, Arthur began developing massive installations principally directed at exploring and illustrating the human body. Some of this installations included nearly fifty different paintings all aimed toward one common goal.
His oil on canvas work reached a level of reality completely foreign to most of today’s contemporary painters. Among the artist’s accomplishments is an unforgettable series of blood drawings executed with such realism it was able to give the viewer the impression as if the figure portrayed was about to leap out of the canvas at any moment.
An artist by definition, Arthur Conway Hubbard, explored several aspects of his art form including dry points and etchings in which he also managed to deliver an outstanding product.
It has been over fifteen years since his last public exhibition and even though his work still remains in high demand he rarely exhibits or sells it to the public. With a devoted group of exclusive collectors, Arthur remains one of America’s most talented living painters.
Given the rarity of his public appearances and the mystery surrounding his body of work it is important to report here that it has been rumored that in the near future there will be a rare print exhibition in the city of Milan (Italy) featuring the artist’s latest work.

Here at Society Foundation we are honored to be featuring Arthur Conway Hubbard and wish to share our passion for his work with our members. The technique and realism Mr. Conway Hubbard puts in his work plays for us here at the foundation a very important role in the future of the art of painting.
Since we do know how rare it is to find a contemporary painter generating this kind of work we intend to keep his art up for as long as we can to continue inspire young artists to reach for the stars each time they get to work.
